Playing with the Pets

Argh, forgot how much I hate winter.  Not a good time to become of street shooter -lol.   Not that I have had any time to get out.   So continuing to play at home with the X100s and the X-T1 with the rarely used 35mm.   I definitely prefer the 23mm (a 35mm in the full frame world) focal length over the 35mm (effectively a 50mm)  Trying to decide if I would want to upgrade to an X100F when it comes out or just pick up the 23mm F2 lens for the X-T1?   I prefer the feel of the X-T1 and the much quicker focus, but I love the smallness and stealthiness of the X100 series.   I'll wait for the F to come out and check the stats but for now I'm leaning towards that 23mm F2.0 on the X-T1.

A few from around the house a mixture of the X100S and the X-T1 w/35mm;

Kitten wondering if chewing on xmas lights might be a good idea or not.   NOT!

Onyx is our rarely seen cat who I managed to catch in the morning sun.

Wookie sporting her sweater on a cold Dec day.

Had to take this in colour to showcase her eyes and the brick.

A friend of ours came over with her new puppy (about 3 months old) and she is such a cutie!  She loves the snow.

Another of fluffy.

Fina, the puppy, enjoying the cat toy - lol

But I seriously need to get into downtown Ottawa and try my hand at the streets.   Or maybe I'll just become a pet photographer :-)

Torturing the Pets

Home sick so tortured the pets with the X100s for a bit;

New Addition to the Fur Family

Just realized that I had only posted pictures of our newest addition to FaceBook and nothing to the blog or G+.

Wookiee (formerly Pippy) came to us a few weeks back from Ottawa Dog Rescue and she has been a wonderful addition.  Very tiny, weighing only 5.4lbs, we're looking to fatten her up.  Two of the cats are responding well but the two, who normally take time with new additions and then become there best buds, are still taking some time to figure her out.   She is smaller then each of the cats!   Full of energy and loves play time.   She desperately needs a hair cut and is wearing the cone because she won't stop licking where her spay incision and has created a bit of a scab.

Still a little shy of the camera

 The family minus the 4 cats

Big brother Jackson still isn't too sure about this :-)

Critters

For some reason I've run across a lot of critters over the past 24 hours.   Unfortunately I missed pictures of the snake, the heron and the hawk but managed to get the deer, squirrels, woodpecker, rabbit and the dog :-)

The XF 55-200 is my least favourite lens of the 3 I bought but it's doing the job :-)  These are the original jpg's from the X-T1 with crops and small curves applied.

Jackson, the Blind GoPro Dog

Well it didn't take me long to figure out how to hook the gopro up to the dog ;-)    Naturally it looks like something out of the Blair Witch project but as a result I was forced to learn the basics of video editing.   When faced with a 3.2gb file you have to do something.

In the end it came down 40 some megs and on YouTube.  Naturally the quality is not near as good as the full HD from the camera itself but I have no idea how to post better qualities unless I purchase an account?  Or maybe put them on my own webpage?   I'll have to experiment with that little problem.

The video is down to 6 minutes from 33.  It had really cool music with it but for some reason YouTube thinks the song is copyrighted and removed my audio track.  So when watching the video be sure to hum the theme song to the Andy Griffith show ;-)  Click on the YouTube thingy on the bar to see the bigger version.
